Not often does one run into real adventurers who have a fearless spirit of adventure and an endearing sense of joy. This was Rex Wotton, a sailor, climber, scuba diver, and a great sport. With his parents, Les and Muriel, Rex Wotton managed the West Coast Watersports center at Coral Reef hotel. It was only a short walk from Settlers Beach. The shop took hotel guest diving and on daytime and sunset cruises around the coast. He was a master seafarer trained by the Royal Merchant Navy in navigation, and marine work. Rex Wotton was one of the most loveable Rogues in Paradise. His spirit of fun and sharp wit surrounded every situation. Sailing to St. Vincent with a friend at age 11 shows his spirit of adventure. He encouraged all to join him in pranks and daredevil acts, making it seem safe, easy, and a joy.
